I lead product for Wholesail, an early stage company modernizing payments and communications for wholesalers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Before Wholesail, I led product for OpenTable. I didn’t join OpenTable as head of product. I started as a PM focused on diner profiles, and worked my way up. Along the way, I convinced leadership to fund the Marketplace team (which is generating eight-figure revenue at a double-digit rates YOY), learned about data science as PM for search and recommendations, and had a chance to build a great product & design organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I developed my obsession with product development as co-founder at CoPress, a digital media startup that transformed college media. We were able to topple the stagnant incumbent and inspire some amazing college journalism, but we weren’t quite able to turn a profit. When we closed CoPress, I set out to learn how to operate an amazing business, which sent me to the consulting firm McKinsey, where I spent two years studying 20+ businesses and learning from some amazing business leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One project had me surreptitiously investigating the prices of women’s blue jeans at luxury retail stores across Canada. Want to understand why Netflix didn’t face copy-cats from big media companies? I might have worked on something like that too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In between McKinsey and OpenTable, I spent three years at eBay’s internal innovation and incubation lab, eBay New Ventures. I worked on a range of products, including RedLaser, the first barcode scanning and omni-channel shopping app on the iPhone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
